Helle

Customer Service Coordinator
(Has worked at Paranova since 2001)

What is your role at Paranova?

I am responsible for handling the Danish Sales orders, receiving claims, return goods and many other things regarding sale in Denmark, Sweden and Finland. So I have a close contact with our different distributors, wholesalers, and pharmacies, and sometimes even private patients also call for the delivery status of a particular product, they are using.

What motivates you in your job?

I quite enjoy the daily contact with wholesalers and pharmacies, and I like to get the things done because I can see progress right there. I like the freedom of responsibility approach. It gives me the possibility to be flexible, get my things done properly and then help out with my four grandchildren if needed. You get opportunities here. Personally, I started in the production, went on to making instructions, then Q&A and since 2010 Customer Service Coordinator.

How would you describe the culture at Paranova?

I think it’s a very open and kind culture and very international as well. I think we are seven different nationalities here in the Danish office, and then there is the contact with our Swedish, Finnish and German colleagues as well. Some in the Purchase department can talk with the Suppliers in Poland, Romania and the Baltic Countries in their language and that’s a significant advantage. In our office, we have a lot of activities, you can join if you want to. Things like summer and Christmas parties, DHL running event, breakfast together every Friday, some join the weekly work out, go for a run or a walk together, and then we have a lot of people who like to bake cakes and share them with us.

Marlene

Marlene

Regulatory Affairs Team Leader (EMA).
(Has worked at Paranova from 2013-2016 and returned again in 2017)

What is your role at Paranova?

I ensure the quality of the products, making sure that we work with quality all the way through the different steps. So I keep an eye out, taking care that everyone can fulfil their job and have the right instructions. My focus is on the details, and I have to be very structured.

What motivates you in your job?

It’s the feeling that you can make a difference for the company and society. I get to take part in many steps of each process, and this gives a great insight into the progress. That’s one of the benefits of being in a company that’s not too big; you get close. You hear about the victories and when we win a tender, and you get many different assignments, which gives a working day with a lot of various challenges.

How would you describe the culture at Paranova?

I think the entrepreneur spirit is very clear here. We don’t take anything for granted, never rest on a success, we are happy but humble, because it’s not a given thing. This challenge is also what makes you want to go that extra mile because you can tell the difference, and you were part of making that difference. It’s excellent teamwork in several steps. Constant change is part of the entrepreneur spirit. You have to be ready to move, adaptive to new ideas and embrace the fact both divisions, assignments, and set-ups can change – but you can also be the one to change it. If you have a great idea about, for instance, new products or procedures, you are encouraged to share it.

As CEO of Paranovas country organisations, I am accountable for the daily management and the delivery of our objectives in the Scandinavian markets. My overall target is to collaborate with MPA Pharma to identify and release synergies as well as productivity, in order to make the MPA Pharma group fit for the future and to stay market leading in an intensifying competitive environment.

What do you like most about your job? What motivates you?

It really inspires me to see a vision come to life through the support of colleagues at all levels in the organisation. What motivates me is to come up with measurable results and clear progress in processes, changes for the better, collaboration and joint efforts as a team. I find it very encouraging to focus on strategic development of both our people as well as on business issues in my daily work. Finally, most of my every day work at Paranova is non-standard and hence I am developing also myself managing all aspects of our complex business.

Why did you choose to work for Paranova?

Choosing to work for a pharmaceutical distributor was something completely new and challenging to me, as I came from outside our industry. The chance to re-shape the organisation, to optimise the way we do business and deliver strong and sustainable results, attracts and reconfirms me day-to-day that I took the right decision.
